Welcome!
SmoothWall LTD will be announcing new features and other news at the RSA conference in San Francisco this Feb. the 5th through the 8th.
George Lungley, CEO and commercial director, SmoothWall LTD will be discussing (at least) the following at this year's event.
SmoothWall Express (the free iteration) version 3.0 will be available as a full release this summer 2007. This is the first full update/new version in three years for this popular opensource firewall, which runs on standard PCs with two NICs.
In addition, a "SmoothWall Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliance, firewall, Web security and email security" will be the first such appliance based on the Intel Core Duo Processor.
Finally, a "SmoothWall School Guardian" product is forthcoming, which is "a specific Internet and Web content filtering product for K12 school systems and colleges". According to a SmoothWall spokesperson, "SmoothWall's channel partners have had great success in selling a slate of its products to education systems in the US [already]".
Stay tuned.
Best Regards,
