Welcome!
The more quality content I have added to my site, the more I have perfected navigation, page loading time, layout, graphics, links and keyword phrasing and placement, the more people link back to my site.
So, perhaps instead of trying to get links, I should try to build a much better site, much, much faster?
Think about it. If people don't find a great site once they reach it, having links to it and high search engine ranking won't help any. If you spend your time building a great site, people will link to it without you having to ask them to.
So, maybe, building a great site is the key. It sounds so simple: "build it and they will come". Yet, I and many of you I'm sure are tempted to build it a little while trying to build traffic a lot.
Why do we do this? Stop and think about the sites you visit most. Is it because of the number of links to that site? Maybe that's how you found it, but even then, didn't you find many of your favorite sites through word of mouth?
And, you don't return to your favorite sites again and again because of how many links they have, but because of how much you like them, because there's something there for you.
Yes, I think perhaps it's time to work on adding more and more great content to my site and building it better and then let it advertise itself, earn its own links, generate word of mouth.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Best,
