Hey, that's what I did. I mean, I expected bugs in Internet Explorer, that's why I switched to Firefox. But, even good software gets bugs now and then. So, be aware, and download the updates as soon as you hear about them.
As with so many software holes I have heard about, talked about, read about and written about, this was a buffer overflow in Firefox. For those who Habla (and actually, at this level, for those who don't) that means the buffer wasn't coded properly to keep hackers from overflowing it, creating an entryway into your system.
I must confess I was surfing along so smoothly that I didn't even know there was a version 1.0.6 Firefox (I was still using version 1.0.4!). But, my ears sure perked up when I read, "flaw"!
If you don't have it, download the latest Firefox version here:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.
Then, get the update here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/messages/307259.html, and follow the instructions on that page.
And, if you need more detailed instructions, super dumbed down and based on the instructions at the, uh, instructions, well, then comment here, will ya? No one is going to run and beat you over the brow for it, especially if you post anonymously. However, if you give your real info, I will like that all the more, as I enjoy meeting new people.
Hasta Manyana [sp?]
Best,
