Well, apparently Microsoft. Google started its rape, pillage and plunder of Little Redmond Ridinghood, stealing its best employees, shortly after opening offices within 8km of Microsoft's Washington headquarters.
As demonstrated by Balmer's supposed response of last year, fear turned to defensiveness and defensiveness to anger when the Microsoft chief spouted in not so many words, I'wll kiwl you a miwllion times, Google – and your widdle CEO Eric Schmidt, too!
Boo, hoo, hoo. It's called an open market, Steve; get over it. To the victor go the spoils.
"Don't cry out loud; learn how to hide your feelings … "
Actually, Microsoft should be very worried about Google. I use Google daily. I go to Microsoft for their knowledgebase a few times a year (and almost never for updates because the updates are more threatening than the exploits they would guard against).
Down with XPSP2! Long live XPSP1!
The point is, everyone I know who is in the know uses Google constantly, too. While Yahoo is a thing of the past, MSN is a never was. If Microsoft wants to compete, it needs to stick to operating systems and software and reup full support on all their products. They also need to quit shutting other vendors out.
Otherwise, Google may well develop that OS and browser they deny having any interest in (like Hillary keeps saying she doesn't plan to run for President), etc, and kick Microsoft's collective butt and shut it out of the marketplace.
