What do I know about computers anyway? Courtesy of

Geer Communications - your on time technology writer!Welcome!
Why listen to a guy you don't know about what to do to fix your computer? Well, as that is a reasonable question, here are some reasonable answers.
In 1998, I went from computer curious to full-time technician for Stratos Internet Group, a former indie ISP in Cleveland, OH.
For about two years and through the transition of our purchase by CoreComm, a Telecom/ISP also in Cleveland, I supported business DSL and networking, consumers, phone customers, my workstation and some of our boxes (at Stratos, just a bit).
I went on to become a full-time technology writer and journalist, supporting my home office network, testing and reviewing hardware and software and supporting home computers for relatives and friends on the side. This is what I do today.
If you'd like to tap more of my knowledge and experience than you'll find in these blogs, check out my articles at
