Well, interestingly enough, as I was attempting to bring up the blogger.com Web site and dashboard for this blog, the site failed to load, though it did keep trying.
It turns out that latency to the site was around 213ms from my computer. This is over 100ms, which is slow. I got these results using a ping test.
How do you do a ping test?
Go to Start, Run and type in Command. You will get a DOS window. Where the cursor is type in ping, hit the space bar and type in the URL of the site you are having trouble reaching with your Web browser. Hit the Enter button.
You will receive a response showing how many packets out of four made it back and the latency in ms (milliseconds) of time it took to get the packets back. Anything over 100 could be trouble, though as your support tech will tell you, "it ain't necessarily so."
