Welcome!
Would you like to tweak your mouse, arrows and cursor to be more visible, more helpful, and more cooperative? Whatever kind of mouse and cursor you want yours to be, you can make it happen under XP. Let me show you how.
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and open the Mouse applet (icon) with a click.
You may find the settings we're going to work with under a Pointers/Options tab. Because I have a laptop and a USB mouse from Logitech, I have tabs for Quick Setup, Pointers, Buttons, Hardware, Motion, Devices and UltraNav.
Where you have similar tabs, work on the settings to your liking where I work on mine. If you don't, use the Pointers/Options tabs or search under different tabs until you see the same or comparable settings. You shouldn't find anything in here that you can't change back.
I want my arrow and cursor to be more visible. What do I do? Under my pointers tab I use the drop down menu under Scheme to select Windows Standard Extra Large System Scheme, and click Apply at the bottom of the current window.
I then move to the motion tab. Under Cursor Speed and Acceleration you can adjust the speed at which your cursor arrow moves when you move the mouse using the slide bar. Just grab it with your mouse and move it along to the fastest speed with which you can happily keep up.
If you want the cursor to automatically jump to the active or highlighted button of any new dialogue box, check the box next to Smart Move. If you have trouble finding your cursor sometimes, you may want to check the box next to Cursor Trails. Adjust the trail length to your liking with the slide bar and click Apply and OK.
You can tweak these settings anytime or reset the cursor selections to default by selecting the Use Default button under the Pointers tab.
Best,
