Welcome!
If you are one of those folks working under Windows 98 and you still have occasion to use DOS now and then, or you boot into DOS by mistake, here's an easy way to get back into Windows 98 from DOS.
Where you find the cursor in the DOS screen, type Win.com and hit enter on your keyboard. You should soon be entering Windows 98. If not, type exit at the new DOS prompt and hit enter on your keyboard.
Away you go!
And, if you want to protect against computer access by anyone from the non-technical yet very nosey crowd while you're away, go to Start, Shutdown, select Restart in MS-DOS mode.
Those who don't know DOS won't have a clue. When you return, type in Win.com and hit enter and you are back into Windows. If someone tries to reboot your system while you are away to get into Windows, it will reboot into DOS again, unless they select to simply restart from the Shutdown menu.
If you return to find your computer in Windows, you know someone has been tampering with your machine.
Best,
